All those ideas are good, but the issues are so complex. It would be great for America to do those things, and in part, that is what the terrorists wanted people to take notice of. The way the US acs around the world. (Not that I in any way support acts of terrorism in order to get ANY point across). But the problem is money. If people didn’t mind giving up money and power, then terrorism wouldn’t be a problem in the first place. But once people have money and power, they won’t want to let go. The truth is, the US could do a lot to prevent terrorism targeted at it, like some of the things you suggested, but at the end of the day they wat to have their cake and eat it. The government wants all the money and power it can get, and at the same time be seen to be protecting its people. The fact is that all the rhetoric Bush uses about democracy and freedom etc. is just a way to make people think that that’s what he’s protecting, and that it’s right to try and spread western values globally. But it’s not, and it is that kind of attitude that breeds more terrorism. It’s not about bowing down to terrorists, it’s about respecting the world and all the cultures in it. Go to university and become president! You sound very intelligent and understanding, especially for your age.
